The brief
Freshwaters Consultancy was commissioned to work collaboratively with the executive team to design and deliver a series of industry sector meetings aimed at senior business leaders to debate how to take forward the recommendations of an influential industry report Race diversity: the benefits for responsible business, published by the Task Force on Race Equality and Diversity in the Private Sector.
To achieve this, we brokered relationships with senior leaders in a range of organisations including KPMG, Barclays, Royal Albert Hall and Shell International because of their track record in championing diversity.
Outcome and impact
- Five different industry sector meetings took place.
- Generated agreement among the leaders that a business-orientated body was required to act as a gateway for employers to access practical solutions to the diversity challenges in the capital.
- Shared cross-sector experiences and the promotion of good practice.
- Created an alliance between London First and the London Development Agency’s Diversity Works Programme.
